A showreel has the function of presenting one’s own skills in a short form. For many people, it is a showcase for their own work and more or less a moving business card.

It is important that the showreel does not only communicate on a visual level. As a motion designer with a technical focus, my way of working is not directly communicable through color schemes and grids.

The solution-oriented thinking and the search for the core of the topic should therefore come across. Hence the idea to build the video in the form of a short film, as the core plot the problem to create a showreel and all the struggles it inherits.

This showreel is currently work in progress. But the real question may be: Will it ever be finished?
